Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another press for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in the Microsoft Word, RTF, or OpenDocument file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined for the Series.
  • Ask to provide: abstract; keyword; short bio-bibliographic note and ORCID of the Author.

The drafting criteria and the template of each Series are present, if any, on the page of the specific Series (the list is here).

Proposals for activating Series or Journals

Proposals for activating Series or Journals can be submitted to BUP Scientific Committee by sending a editorial project form (doc or pdf) to bup@unibas.it.

BUP Scientific Committee examines the editorial projects and verifies their scientific coherence and quality standards (like international scientific committee or peer review).

Books and Journals can be printed in a traditional way or on demand. IRIS institutional repository hosts digital products in open access. SHARE Press Consortium hosts open access books and journals, if they respect high scientific criteria.

SHARE Press Consortium offers another institutional repository and largest national and international diffusion. It offers also a service for legal deposit of the editorial product.

 

Proposals for publication in active Series

To publish a book in an already active series, it will first be necessary to send a project to the Coordinator/Director of the Series containing:

1. title of the book;

2. name of editor(s) (with a curriculum, if the editor is external);

3. short abstract (about 800-1000 characters);

4. index/summary also not definitive;

5. approximate number of characters.

In a second phase, once the publication has been accepted, it will be necessary to communicate:

1. title of the book in Italian and English;
2. abstract of the book (max 1100 characters including spaces) in Italian and English;
3. disciplines/subjects of the book;
4. 3-5 keywords in Italian and English;
5. orcid code of all curators (in the format https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9130-0000);
6. short curriculum in Italian and English of all the curators (max 800 characters);
7. cover (front only) in jpg, with limited weight (max 2 MB and about 3000 pixels high);
8. well formatted PDF volume (i.e. formatted by a professional or an expert);
9. signed release form of all authors: http://web.unibas.it/bup/Documenti /BUP-Scheda_Autore.docx (to be collected and sent in a zip folder or in several zip folders not exceeding 5 MB).

The evaluation forms of external readers (peer review) will be collected by the manager of the Series and must not be disclosed to the Editors or Authors.

Copyright Notice

The Author must complete and submit the specific Form which can be downloaded from the specific Series page (listed here).

In any case, by submitting his product to the BUP, the Author:

– authorizes BUP - Basilicata University Press, free of charge and without time limits, to publish and/or disseminate in any form his/her own texts, videos and / or images.

– declares that his/her scientific contribution is disseminated, for free, through the telematic networks, and that:

  • it does not in any way violate the applicable copyright laws nor the obligations associated with the safeguarding of the moral or economic rights of other authors or other rightholders, with respect to texts, images, photos, tables, and other contents;
  • it is not the result of activities falling under industrial property law and is not subject to any patent registration;
  • has not been produced under projects funded by public or private entities that have previously placed particular constraints on the dissemination of the results for reasons of confidentiality or privacy.

Open Access Policy

This Press provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

All books and Journals are published under 

“Creative Commons - Attribution” (CC 4.0 BY NC ND) Licence.

 

With the licence CC-BY-NC-ND, authors retain the copyright.

Under the following terms:

Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.

NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.
